Lyla's prayer

Tonight Troy came out to me and said, "Lyla got me choked up on what she said in her prayer." Lyla said, "Heaven is far away but when we pray it feels closer to us"

that was the sweetest thing she has ever said and so true!

While me Troy and Lyla were on the trampoline looking at the stars Lyla whispers in Troy's ear "Dad you're so handsome"

Today at church the teacher was giving a lesson on how Heavenly Father loves all his children around the world. Lyla raises her hand and says, " He doesn't love people who speak spanish". The teacher asks why and Lyla says, "because they speak spanish" hahaha she is funny!

Jackson just took his first few steps all by himself today!

Lyla's adventure

(this is Troy writing this) 7/7/13

I was watching lyla and jackson and lyla said that she wanted to go on an adventure. She wanted her and I to go and get dressed so that we could go on an adventure like Dora the Explorer. I asked her where she wanted to go on this adventure, to a castle or to a dragon's cave? She said that she wanted to go a dragon's cave. She ran into her room to get dressed for the adventure and she decided on wearing her Little Mermaid wedding dress. Then she grabbed her back pack and said that it would be dark in the cave and so she grabbed her light up pillow and stuffed it into the back pack and put it on. I told her we needed a map like Dora has so she looked around the room for one. I had her grab a book from her closet and pretend it was a map. She grabbed a book and started flipping through the pages and describing where we needed to go to get to the cave, "we need to go this way and then this way and then that way," pointing in all different directions. Then I said, "ok, let's go, I'll follow you because you have the map." So we took off from her room and she started heading for the front door and I asked where she was going? She said that we needed to get in the car to go on our adventure. I told her that we couldn't go in the car and that we needed to pretend inside the house. She looked over into the corner of the living room and said, "look, there's the dragon's cave!" She ran over to the corner and found her pony stuffed animal and said, "oh, I need to save my pony!" She began to put her pony and several other toys into her Barbi suit case. Then I said, "look out! here comes the dragon! we need to hide." we took off running and hid on either side of the couch. I was holding Jackson and so I didn't want to crouch down like Lyla was doing so I just held up a pillow in front of my head to "hide" from the dragon. Lyla saw me and said, "yeah, we can pretend we are statues!" and posed like a statue. Then I said that the dragon and flown past us and left so we went back to saving her pony. When she finished zipping up the suit case I said that the dragon was coming back and we needed to hurry back to our "camp" AKA her bedroom. So we took off running to her room. When we were in her room she said that it was fun going on an adventure but that she wanted to go on a real adventure sometime in the car and drive far away.

Lyla: I want red hair
me: Like me??
Lyla: no! you have orange hair!

I guess I do have "orange" hair.....why do they call it red hair?

 Lyla was "teaching" a lesson. We always have to go out with her during sacrament

 While I was gone for the weekend in cali this is what Lyla and Dad did. Go to a car show

 then he put a tent up and they actually slept in it all night. He said it was pretty uncomfortable but knew she would love it

 Lyla came home crying so hard one day from playing outside with the neighbors, she couldn't move her arm so Troy took her in to urgent care. She had nurse maids elbow but as they were moving it to do xrays it popped back into place and she was perfectly fine. She had fallen asleep waiting, poor thing was in sooo much pain.

 Lyla has seriously been sick since October. She gets super bad coughs just from a simple cold. When she has a cough she is up all night coughing and crying it really is the worst thing ever!!!

 us going on a date to see Brian Reagen. Troy got us the tickets for my Christmas present. It was so fun!

 1/22 starting to roll over 3.5 months

 I went back to cali for the weekend for my cousins funeral and of course this is what we do when we get together

I forgot to mention that for new years eve we had our friends Lindsey and Tyler and there twins over. It was very last min, I was talking to Lindsey on the phone and she asked what we were doing and I told her we were just staying in and watching a movie and she said they weren't doing anything either. Welp why don't we just do nothing together. It was a lot of fun we ordered café rio and watched The Bourne Legacy

Lyla came up to me and said, "mom I don't eat my boogers anymore, I just wipe them on my shirt".
What a proud moment.

Jackson is teething and we think a little tooth should pop up soon, and today was his very first blow out! it only took 5 months :) glad this wasnt a regular occurance.

Christmas and California

Before we headed to cali we had our own little christmas.

Here is Lyla waiting to see her presents, a family tradition to count to ten

 she got hello kitty rain boots, dinosaurs, a big lion, a kaboodle with makeup in it.
We then had our yummy big breakfast and enjoyed our day together

 Here we are in cali, and my parents bought Lyla a bike and this was going to be her only present on actual Christmas day but of course Lyla found the bike in my parents closet. I came home and saw her riding it in the house. There goes her christmas present. She loved it!

We had such a great time in California and I was so suprised how well Jackson did on the ride there and back. We always have so much fun with our family and to have Lyla play with all her cousins, she was in heaven.
